The Italian Trip

ITALY!

It's a great place, and its really beautiful. I'm experiencing awful jetlag. So bad that it has affected my ability to write this entry. Seriously. I started this entry around 10ish pm, because that was about the time I came home and settled in (ie. jammies & stuff), now it's almost 2 in the morning and I am only 20% done with my homework. =.=;
AND I still have to write this. kf;adjfk panicking!

Okayyyy I'm over exaggerating this. :P But I always tend to over exaggerate a little. But this entry will be my documentation of all things that happened from the day I got on my flight to this moment?

1/1/11 at 5:30 was my flight from Newark. It was a pain getting there so my mother told me that no matter what I must always leave from JFK or LaGuardia airport. Pricing aside, it is just easier. Because the person who gave me a ride was my mom's friend. I thought it was her friend all along who was going to drive me, not my brother's friend. But he's unreliable, roflmao I thought she knew that.

Well so I got there and there are lines everywhere. I get on the right one and once I'm moved closer to the front, the employees wanted to move me and a bunch of other people to another checkin area downstairs. It seemed like that one was for ~special star members~ only area. Well this ONE (french?)
guy threw a fit and was
curisng and everything about how the line was worst than the line above yada yada yada. I bet you, he STOPPED complaining once he saw how fast that line moved. I mean longer but man that was fast. Probably because the special rewards customers have it fast and no problems/questions/etc. That was my issue as well. Hurhurhur.

While entering and EVERYTHING, I managed to see people I didn't like right away. It is like I am a magnet for this. Well there was this mixed (asian/somethingelse) and a white girl who were
together and they were just all ZOMGIRGREAT type of aura. Ok not the girl but really the guy. I did not like that look he had in his eyes. WELL I managed to bump in to them at this food place inside the checked in area AND they managed to sit right next to me by the gate. But they stood up when the plane started boarding, with FIRST class FIRST. Yo he's balling and that's why he had an aura of a douche. Lololol

Oh there was also a lady with a dog. I petted it! But she painted her dog's nails. It was a horrendous color. :T Other than that her seat or her husband's seat was next to someone who had allergies to dogs and they wanted to sit together(?) and wanted to trade seats with me. I didn't want to. It's my first time travelling and I had a windo
w seat, I was a bit freaked out and really don't want to move on
ce I am settled. She probably gave me a look when I gave my reasoning as "I just don't want to."

Oh wells, some other girl was nice enough and got to sit next to me. But it was by chance that we were on the same program in Italy. Her name was Catherine and man she was pretty short. But REALLY nice. :) I hope to visit her later. But then the flight happened, and I swear that seat was burning by the time middle. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't do anything. My butt was burning because I sat in that seat for WAY TOO long. Then a 5 hour wait for my connecting flight from Rome to Florence.

In Rome, it's not called Florence. O___O;; It's called Firenza. I don't know. I was looking for my flight information on one of the computers (I asked a security guard for help and he was decidedly unhelpful). I didn't see "Florence" but the code that was next for "Firenza" matched and I figured it out that way. I felt extremely.... stupid because I was not informed and if I knew this I could have saved so much trouble and not ask for people who are decidedly unhelpful.

Once I got there I was SO tired. I checked in and got my key to the apartment. I'm pretty lucky in the fact that I live right next to the Piazza del Doumo. It's a magnificent place. :)
And right here is a picture of my taxi ride to pick up my lovely key. Its a cute old vintage style because the apartments are that old. Which makes you love it and hate it at the same time. :T

Love it because it's so vintage, but it's so old every creak can be heard throughout the apartment. Every sound made in the staircase can be heard as well as muffled voices.
So day 1 started with meeting my roomie, she was nice but I was hoping to connect with her more because she's not asian. MEH. Didn't happen, so now I'm connecting with my more asian dormmates. Well we all showered, got pizza, got a new things (dishwasher soap, detergent, fabric softener). Came home and I knocked out. I was so dead. While my roomie chilled with her friend who she wanted to room with.

She wanted to switch, but that's now an impossibility. Because one rule Firenza has all over, even in hotels is that once you are legally (passport and everything) registered as renting someplace, you MUST live in that place for that specified time. Otherwise if you sleep somewhere else, you will be fined because there is a no overnight guest rule. Idk it's confusing.

Then 1/2/11 was class. :) I woke up at 3 am and it was ridiculous but then I talked to one of my other roomies for a bit and it was all good. Around 7ish we headed out to McDonalds for breakfast. The image below was what I had, along with a strawberry frappe.
But look at this! I don't remember what it's called but I know that I was not expecting the chocolate in the middle. It was simply divine. :)

Then art class lunch. My teacher was really cool. But we will have um nude models to sketch so I am rather not looking forward to that. Lol.

Well she took us somewhat around Firenza to visit an art store to buy supplies. :) At first I thought it was going to be 167 euros. I was like wtf! But when we got to the store it was actually like 67 euros. I was pretty relieved. I didn't taka pictures of all the food I had to eat, but whenever I remembered I did. :) So the following are my lunch (Pasta w/ mushrooms, mixed veggies, and a slice of pork). And my dinner (lasagna, house red wine, torta della nona). Everything was magnificent and delicious. :)
